Call for Papers

CALL FOR PAPERS – BUSINESS MODEL

As part of Rethink Music, Berklee College of Music, in collaboration with Harvard Business School, is running a music industry business model competition. We are seeking proposals for businesses that provide novel ways to stimulate and monetize creativity in the music industry.

The deadline for submissions has now closed.  After receiving hundreds of submissions, we are in the last stage of the judging process, and finalists will present their plans at the Rethink Music conference. Berklee will provide a $50,000 cash prize to the first place submission, and $5,000 to the first runner-up.    $10,000 in in-kind legal services will be available to the first place submission through a generous donation from Duane Morris, LLP.    Access to venture capital may also be available.

CALL FOR PAPERS – PUBLIC POLICY

As part of Rethink Music, the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, in collaboration with Harvard Law School's Journal of Sports and Entertainment Law ("JSEL"),  ran a call for papers in the fall of 2010, seeking policy proposals that advance the interests of music creators, consumers, and entrepreneurs through changes in existing law.

One winner has now been selected and will present at Rethink Music in April.

You may see the initial call for papers information here.
