Rethink Music is committed to fostering innovation and new ideas for the music business. To that end, we are proud to announce the 2012 Genesis Project, a competition that will recognize new concepts, technologies, and businesses which can move the industry forward.
Proposals will be evaluated in the spring of 2012, and finalists will present their plans at the Rethink Music conference in Boston and Cambridge on April 23–24, 2012.
Rethink Music sponsors are providing $10,000 in legal services, additional in-kind consulting services and at least three meetings with venture capitalists.
We are seeking proposals for business, applications, or models that can offer new or improved ways to encourage and monetize creativity in the music industry. The proposals will be judged on their potential to become the basis of a viable new or improved venture or business idea. We encourage submissions from persons of all backgrounds. Well-researched, collaborative team efforts will be given first priority. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Proposals must be written in English.
The Genesis Project is now open for submissions until March 15, 2012.
